I have just finished the completed schematic for my Nikon ML-L3 IR Remote DIY project. It combines the functionality of the components of Part 1,2 and 3 of this series. The design specifications are:-
1. Should generate an IR signal that mimics a Nikon ML-L3 and trigger shutter release on a Nikon DSLR
2. Should have the capability of an intervalometer and be able to generate ‘x’ number of trigger signals with an operator specified delay ‘y’ seconds between them.
3. Be able to detect flashes of lightning and generate trigger signals to capture these flashes
4. Be able to detect motion in its field of view and generate trigger signals to capture animals/ warm bodies passing in front of the sensor.
Here is the overall schematic. This was created and verified for correctness using KICAD.
